Get Duped: A Dupe for Clinique's Chubby Stick

I'm sure you've seen the Clinique Chubby Stick ads everywhere lately. Let's face it, after watching it, who wouldn't want to run out and buy one? For most college girls Chubby Sticks are a staple because they're moisturizing and just enough color to your everyday look. The best part: You don't even have to look in the mirror. The worst part: they're $16.

Luckily, I've seen some major drugstore brands putting their own spin on this Clinique classic.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
C'mon. Look at the packaging. It screams dupe, right?! Not quite. These products are both retractable crayons but that's where the similarities stop.  The consistency of Revlon's version is much drier, and has a matte finish  but the color lasts all day!

At first, I was disappointed that I had purchased the Chubby Stick's less moisturizing, fraternal twin, but the more I used it I grew to love the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. Here's why:
  • Long lasting, opaque color pay off
  • 12 great shades
  • Reapplied twice in eight hours
The best dupe for the Chubby Stick had been sitting in my makeup bag all along! While Revlon's Lip Butters may not have been marketed as a competitor to the Chubby Stick, both products are extremely moisturizing and have a glossy finish. At around $6, the Revlon Lip Butter is less than half the price.  The shade pictured below, Candy Apple  is the perfect shade for an everyday red lip.

Not only is the Revlon Lip Butter significantly cheaper than the Clinique Chubby Stick it is also better because:
  • 20 shades  compared to the 16 shades offered by Clinique
  •  More pigmented and build-able color payoff
  • Reapplied three times in eight hours compared to five times with Clinique Chubby Stick

Will you splurge or save?
